I've always wondered about the two trucks: are they Pragas or, as I suspect, disguised Bedfords? |

Wrong type of windscreen for a Praga. They could be GMC ACX-504. |

Mmm. Could be, but I remember thinking when I saw the movie that the side view looked very M-type Bedford. They looked too small for Jimmies. -- Last edit: 2007-08-27 14:08:49 |

You mean these two on the main picture? I can't find any differences between them and this one: /vehicle_31785-TAM-Pionir-1947.html So Praga is not a completly bad guess, I think. -- Last edit: 2007-08-27 15:03:27 |

You're right, of course ... I'm watching the movie on TV right now, and the front axle's too far forward for a Bedford. I'll go along with Praga or TAM Pionir, probably the latter as the film was made in Jugoslavia. You know me, weasel1984 ... mądry po szkodzie ... |

You definitely have learned more than is necessary to survive /vehicle.php?id=125572. |

There are three more elsewhere in the film, although sadly I haven't got the DVD at the moment so I can't make caps myself, but whoever does can find them in the following spots: 1. During the journey through the town that's being bombed, a Kubel is blown to bits and almost run into by one of the American halftracks (specifically, the one with Big Joe). 2. During Oddball's assault on the railway, a parked Kubel is shown sitting a few feet away from a violent explosion of a train, but remarkably survives. 3. In the town at the end, there's a Kubel parked outside "the brown building behind the bank." It's in several shots, and, like the Kubel at the railway, survives an explosion that goes off mere feet from it (in this case, the building it's parked in front of gets blown up). |

The wreckage of the destroyed Kubel is also in the background in the river crossing scene. Not sure if it is a real one though, as the wheels on it are wrong. |

More background Kubels, including the one that gets blown to bits during the bombing of the town: If you look closely you can see the cable pulling the Kubel in front of the halftrack prior to the explosion. It looks like a mockup, rather than a real Kubel. Also somehow it turns around after being blown up! |

Looks geniune, but details show much later date than 1940. Many items are removed compared to a combat vehicle. For the canvas top (wrong window, though, they were never that large) and what can be seen of the engine cover, 1944 only -- Last edit: 2016-06-25 07:17:05 |

this is just 2 stars !! |

Eh, I disagree; it's got a decent amount of screentime leading up to the minefield scene, is used by a character (John G. Heller's German lieutenant), plus there's multiple other Kübelwagens throughout the movie, so I'd say a three-star rating is, while perhaps a bit overly generous, succinct. |
