Note how the Goodyear Tire signs are masked off along with "California" lettering on the plates. This car was also used in episode 1.30. The plot involves 2 identical "gray convertibles." But they forgot to switch plates, so when the innocent man is arrested, he's driving the wrong car. (see below) Innocent man picks up hitchhiker who had just robbed payroll (note plates).
