1940. Due its short length and only two-door I'm thinking either Special -46-C- or Super -56-C-, both Convertible Coupe. Mike, Dave, Pilou, Fortengo....

From what I can find in the 1940 brouchure the only convertible of the two was the Special. External difference is that the Special have running boards and the Super havn´t.

In the dialog of the movie, it was mentioned to have a $1400 price tag. It was a 17th birthday present to the character of Vita.

This is a 1940 Century Model 66C, not the Special 46C Convertible Coupe. Note the longer hood and how the Century's last hood vent section is many more inches ahead of the end of the hood at the cowl as compared to the Special. Warner Bros. had a '40 Century in Sequoia Cream used in "Seabiscuit" and "Till We Meet Again" among other films. In the Century's scenes in "Mildred Pierce" the door vent frames windows have been removed.

This is the '40 Buick Special 46C...note the hood vent location on its shorter hood as compared the the Century 66C.
