My grandfather made lots of tractors like that at the time, and I own one based on a 1934 Chevrolet, not built by him though. But in the late sixties it became popular to make this conversion on Volvo Duett, mostly, legally it makes the car a tractor with a limited speed of 30 km/h and you´re allowed to drive it from the age of 16. So it became very popular during the seventies and eighties among teenagers. Many of them still runs, even if they are not quite as common any longer.
