Not a Bluebird in the US. It was called PL-411. Someone at Datsun had enough sense not to use the silly names they gave their cars (like Bluebird, Sunny, FairLady, Cherry..). |

Saw this movie for the first time yesterday. This is a 1967 RL411, specifically the SSS badged version - though in the US, the only difference between non-SSS and SSS is the engine serial number and badging. Engine numbers lower than R-40000 were badged "1600" instead of SSS on the front grill and didn't have the SSS on the side pillar. The higher mounted taillights are unique to the 1967. Also, the RL411 was only sold for 1967 in the US. The grill is unique to the RL411; the PL411 had a different grill, which was the same as earlier year PL411's. |
