Definately not an S-class, rather a /8. 4 cyl. models are W115, 6cyl. models are W114, so we need to know which engine was fitted in order to determine.

Year is 1967-73 from the old-fashioned mirror and slightly nallow grille.

We can also pick one of the two W-numbers randomly like usual :D

By the way, a 280 SE was already listed for this movie. Could it be this one?

definitely not a 280SE. Most likely a 1969-73 200-220 gas.

Please change name to:

1968 Mercedes-Benz 220 D

Here is a short analysis WHY this is a 220 D:
From all 31 W115 and W114 models, the following can be excluded due to the car being a normal four-door-sedan:
220 D Lang
240 D Lang
230 Lang
230.6 Lang
250 C Coupé
250 C Coupé (2.8)
250 CE Coupé
280 C Coupé
280 CE Coupé

20 variants remain still in "the game".
The blu ray screen capture from the car's back shows four numbers/letters, the last one with a slightly bigger gap than the others (like "200 D" for example).
The following models can be excluded due to simply just having not enough numbers in the model name:

200
220
230
250
280

The list (found on Wikipedia) features facelift versions with a different entry than the original 1968 model, so please do not think I made some mathematic errors:
Only 10 models are now remaining.

As this is a very early 1968 model, as mentioned by user Jun nine years ago, all facelifted versions can also be excluded, if they have not been "thrown out" already.
The following models can be therefore excluded:

200 D (1973 - 1976)
220 D (1973 - 1976)
240 D (1973 - 1976)
240 D 3.0 (1974 - 1976)
230.4 (1973 - 1976)
230.6 (1973 - 1976)
280 E (1972 - 1973)
280 E (1973 - 1976)

Now, there are only two possible models left: 200 D and 220 D.
When zooming in on the badge given on the screenshot, the last digit (the "0") appears different than the one in the middle (the "2"), and if you look extremely close, you might notice that the digit in the middle is shaped like a "2", and not like a "0" which would look like the one right of it.

In 1992 I bought a 1972 w115 mercedes Benz 220D which I owned for four years. It was not facelifted in any way. If you listen to the engine note in the film this one is a diesel and you can tell by the smooth tail lights and rounded rather than flat front headlamp lenses that this is the same model. As far as I know there was no 240 at that stage so whilst I can't identify the year precisely I can say with some certainty that it is a 220D.

Please change year to 1969, as this has the black rear view mirror and side mirror mounted at the door.

And I'm afraid the 220 D is a different car, since the scenes involving this car have been filmed in Thailand and Hong Kong. Although both cars are virtually identical (even the sticker on the windscreen), I don't really think they shipped the car from HK to Thailand (or vice versa), as the W115 was a top seller (I think it was number #1 new car in Germany 1974). It wouldn't be too hard to find a white Mercedes with red interior in the 70s, would it?
