Alexander ◊ 2006-04-25 22:18	I cannot match it to an Italian truck, but it reminds me of a Spanish truck -- I think Pegaso from the 1950s. But I haven't found any reference for or against this idea.

All the other details fit beautifully: entrance step, lights, shape of the front (look at the mould below the windscreen), the windscreen frame itself, the small lid above the grille, etc. It might be a different, probably slightly older version. Mr P4 ◊ 2007-11-12 03:07	Je crois vraiment que c'est un Simca Cargo sacrément modifié pour lui donner un air d'Autocareta. On apercoit même le treuil Bonnier à l'avant, le restant d'embouti du pare-brise de la cabine fermée, le siège passager, rejet du haut du pare-brise pour la bache, les arceaux ont la forme caractéristique également(et surement plaquage en bois de la caisse par dessus les ridelles en fer), l'aile à recu un ajout arrondi...etc...
2491tj ◊ 2008-01-29 17:29	It IS a Simca..one of 7 supplied to thwe film by Steve Lamonby in the UK, they converted them to look like WW2 Fiats..and even put V8 Ford Engines in them.they converted them to 4x4 and as well as filming with them, they were so reliable, they were used to tow other vehicles which had got stuck, and they were used by the film crew as scout and tow vehicles.They were all built, with the other vehicles,in 3 months, at Bray Studios in Middlesex in the UK and shipped out to Greece...some came back to the UK..and if you have the "Band Of Brothers" DVD set, look at the last CD,,the studio who built these replicas also built the fake german MkIV tanks for BOB. -- Last edit: 2008-01-29 17:54:27

column ◊ 2015-07-12 18:51	Indeed 2491tj, At least one of these Simca F594 trucks still can be found on Kefalonia. Last summer I spotted this vehicle near a riverside close to the village of Makriotika. It was in a very bad shape (as you can see on the pictures) and definitely has not been used for a long time yet…..
