Just stop it with this whole ex-LAPD thing, everybody who says that is usually just taking a guess.

Don't get smart with me ford_guy. These are black and white '86 Caprice 9C1's okay and both were ex LAPD cop cars.

Oh sorry, I really actually wasn't trying to be sarcastic or anything. Just what evidence do you have that these were ex-LAPD?

These are not ex LAPD, because by the time this movie was filmed, (1990-1991) The LAPD still had their 1986 Caprices. LAPD's '86 Caprices lasted until 1994, when most were sent to the motorpool where older vehicles went before being decomissioned. These are 1986 Chevy Caprice 9C1's of the Arkansas Highway Patrol.

So what if they're black and white? SFPD, LAPD, and a lot of local PDs around the country have black and whites.

I'm sorry ford_guy. Snookie's right they're 1986 Caprice 9C1's, Arkansas Highway Patrol.

It's ok, no offense taken or anything. Did they say they were Arkansas Highway Patrol in the movie because these look nothing like the real Arkansas Highway Patrol cars.

My mistake. According to the IMDB the two main characters are from Arkansas, but they lead authorities on a cross county chase towards Mexico. These are not Arkansas Highway Patrol, but one of the many southwestern agencies down there.

All I was saying is how I hate it when people guess on what department these movie cars used to belong too. I agree with you, all that should matter is what make and what year.

exactly I would think it nearly impossible to know itf it is really an ex LAPD car or whatever even if it looks like it. Maybe the Props dept on a particular movie was very good lol
