Hello juregnsmuda, Does your friend still own this car? Is it the Bond car? And is this definitely a Bentley 3.5 Ltr? I work on a Bond cars magazine and am interested in finding the car. Thanks. |

Bonds only film Bentley. Wrong colour, he always had a battleship grey one in the books. |

Right; and in the books James Bond drove a 4½ Litre Supercharged ("Blower Bentley"). |

![]() In Ian Fleming's Bond novels Bond often drives a Bentley, and here we see the cinematic Bond's Bentley. Although this is the only Bond film where we see him with a Bentley (with the exception of the unofficial Bond films Casino Royale (1967) and Never Say Never Again). In this scene Bond is by a river, enjoying the company of Sylvia Trench (Eunice Gayson), but then his beeper goes off and he runs to his Bentley to recieve a call from Moneypenny on his car phone. In 1963 having a phone in a car was quite something! ![]() "Now, about that lunch..." -- Last edit: 2008-09-03 11:50:51 |

Various sources refer to this car as a "Bentley Mark IV", but this wikipedia article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Bond_vehicles#Bentley says that no Bentley was ever called this. |

According to this wikipedia article (and I'm not sure if you can always trust wikipedia 100%) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bentley the Bentley 3 1/2 litre was made from 1933 to 1937. But it would be nice if an expert here could identify the year of this car. -- Last edit: 2008-09-02 20:42:06 |

It bit simalier what he drove in "Never Say Never Again." The Bentley he drove was 4 1/2 before he was issued his gadget Motorbike Yamaha. Never forgot the world his favorite 007 mobile Aston Martin DB5 which replaced the Bentley in the one of the loved & always unforgotton Bond movie Goldfinger. -- Last edit: 2010-09-06 12:12:06 |

In the novels the Bentley was Bond personal possessions. The dialogue from Goldfinger strongly implies that the Bentley was issued to Bond by Q-Branch Bond: Where's my Bentley? Q: It's had its day, I'm afraid. Bond: But it's never let me down. Q: M's orders, 007. You'll be using this Aston Martin DB5, with modifications. I found some more pictures of this exhibition a while back. There exhibited a black BMW 750iL and a red Z8. So I doubt whether this is an original, personally I do not think so. But the registration is still in line with the model of James Bond Car collection |
