Based on the bumpers and other details, this is 1974 or 1976. The 1975 and 1977 models added a little light on the front fender (I don't know if it was a marker, a turn signal, or what), just aft of the bumper that I don't see here. |

the cornering light - a steady (non-blinking) white guidance light that illuminated in conjunction with the turn signal - is absent on this one. from what i can determine with the help of some of my dad's pontiac salesman information from back in the day, the cornering lamps were available each year between 1974 and 1977 as part of a lighting group option package. conversely, that also would mean that any of the 4 years could be found without the cornering light as well. that doesn't change CougarTim's year range though. the earliest possible year for this car would be 1974, and 1977 marked the end of the "big car". |
