Defintely a Ford, I believe a 1948. This car is known as White Lightning, when it was painted red and had other modifications including clear hood and big wheels and fins it became known as Greased Lightning |

This is one of three 1948 Ford Convertibles used in Grease. The first is the "junker" that Kiniki buys. This same '48 was used for background dressing in the film, Used Cars and a picture of it can be seen on this site. The '48 above was used to represent the same car after being rebuilt and the third '48 was the red one used in the dream dance sequence. |

I remember sitting down one night to see the scene where this car raced against the black car with the flames. I didn't know if the white car winning was a good thing or a bad thing for the storyline of the film. |
