Do we list that as a 1964 or a 1965 then ? |

Rather 1964. If a die-hard Mustang fan sees we put the '64 1/2 model year with '65, he's gonna have a heart attack, or rant endlessly in the comments...  |

According to Ford, it's a '65 (they say that the Mustang came out for the '65 model year, albeit in April instead of the usual October). |
