I owned one of these that even had factory air Air conditioning! All power options except for the antenna. Even had separate heater for the rear seat Passengers. I bought it in 1965. It was white with a red "Buffalo hide" leather. I used to treat the leather wirh sadle soap. Sad but it was stolen an totaled. I never but never had any trouble with the dynaflow tranny, would do 60 in low gear, (only had drive and low). I used to shift into low for a "passing" gear! The car was a joy to drive. I often drove in the winter, top down, with the heater full blast. I was my only car. Gas was about 18 cents a gallon for high test. Last but not least the car was a beast, went like h---'!!!!!! I would very much like to hear any comments of the '61 Electra 225. |
