2007-08-19 21:55 | ![]() This looks like a convertible rather than a hard-top coupe (in the thumbnail the roof of the Aston is above the roof of the Range Rover), am I right? Would that make this a DB4 Volante? |
2007-08-19 22:09 | It's indeed a very rare ( only 70 made ) 1962 DB 4 Convertible. |
2007-08-19 22:25 | Shouldn't it be called a DB4 Volante instead of a "DB4 Convertible"? |
2007-08-19 22:36 | As far as I know, only from the DB6 Aston dropheads were called Volante. http://www.astonmartins.com/np6c/index.html -- Last edit: 2007-08-19 22:53:07 |
2007-08-19 22:47 | I've just found out (through wikipedia) that convertible Astons were only called Volantes after the DB5: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Short_Chassis_Volante There's another DB4 listed as a Volante on this site, that must be incorrect. |
2007-08-19 22:56 | And one went over the cliff in The Italian Job |
2007-08-19 22:57 | I think "Convertible" should be added at least as extra info. |
2007-08-19 22:59 | But it's not really part of the official model name, anyway at the top of the picture it says Class: Cars, Convertible, so that should be enough. |
2007-10-05 02:09 | This car must belong to director Bruce Robinson. His car also appeared in Withnail and I: vehicle_130929-Aston-Martin-DB4-1961.html |
