2004-2008 model, Ford F-150 Regular Cab XLT (P221) wearing Dark Shadow Grey A front view, assuming it has fog lamps, would help narrow down the model year range. Note that if both rear wheels were spinning during the high speed turn, it may have the optional limited-slip rear differential (standard on FX4) This was the only form of traction assist available for F-150 pickups. 2-wheel electronic traction control or 4-wheel electronic traction control was not available for this generation. |

No fog lamps, but the capture does tell that the truck is a XL and not XLT. Some XLs did come with chrome steel bumpers depending on their level of equipment. |

Has the column shifter (which CCF likes) with push button overdrive lock-out. Likely the powertrain consists of the 4.6 liter SOHC Triton V8 engine. Safety included adjustable three-point safety belts, load limiting retractors, 4-wheel ABS, dual front supplemental restraint system (SRS) air bags, post-crash fuel pump shut-off, among other features. Large k-shaped seat mounted side impact air bags and head curtain air bags (Safety Canopy head protection system) would not be added until the 2009 model redesign. -- Last edit: 2010-03-25 02:13:19 |

Interior picture provided by Cinema Vehicles shows it to have a Ford stereo head unit that has a cassette player and a CD player. Also has some aftermarket red applique on the HVAC controls and lower. -- Last edit: 2010-03-24 04:39:23 |

Neptune, would it be safe to say this XL model does not have the Work Truck package? |

Neptune, didn't know that the 5.4L was available on the XL. Perhaps on the 4wd, but not the 2wd? |

Well, actually that’s a typo on my part, the high performance, free breathing 5.4 liter Triton V8 and 4-speed 4R75E is the most common powertrain across the F-150 line. The smaller 4.6 liter Triton V8 is most common in the XL trims. The F-150 did come with a 4.2 liter V6 and 5-speed manual gearbox, but the V6 was weak, and strained to move the hefty F-150 (this engine/transmission combo was never offered on the F-150’s biological child, the Expedition) The V6 engine greatly hindered the F-150’s maximum towing capacity. And no, it doesn’t appear to have the "work truck group package" (introduced for 2005 models) |
