I'm pretty sure this is the fastback. It's an interesting choice of car for this character. Since they gave Spencer Tracy's character a '67 Valiant (odd choice, given that his character is rich), I'm thinking the producers had some sort of deal with Chrysler-Plymouth, either sponsorship or at least a willingness to supply cars for free or very cheap. The character driving the Barracuda is a stylish snob who works in an art gallery (thus, not rich, unless the job is more of a hobby), so perhaps this car makes sense for her. Base-line Barracudas were in the lower price range, I believe, and were intended to be sporty. |

The link between income and car is less pronounced than you suggest. I, a pauper living on my pension, drive a 2018 Benz and also have an ancient Bentley. My wife complains that she wakes in the morning and finds she is covered in oily finger marks. |
