In fact, it's slightly anachronistic. Illinois did use the AB1234 (two-letter, four-number) format on standard plates. It should look like these plates: Rather than this one: A dealer plate would have "DL" vertically on the left, "LAND OF LINCOLN" on the top, and "19 ILLINOIS 85" on the bottom. -- Last edit: 2012-02-11 05:52:13
