Probably registered as '670 ELL' Daimler SP250 Police Car by the bell on the front. Originally purchased by the Metropolitan Police on the 1st November 1964 (edit: see the following note on DVLA data), and was one of 26 such vehicles used as high speed pursuit cars. source: http://www.narpo-staffs.co.uk/images/Waywewere/Daimler.htm The vehicle details for 670 ELL are: Date of Liability 01 05 2010 Date of First Registration 17 01 1979 Year of Manufacture 1962 Cylinder Capacity (cc) 2500CC Vehicle Colour BLACK However '669 ELL' another Daimler Police car was registered 16 November 1962 and manufactured in the same year, the data for '670 ELL' is probably incorrect (possibly re-registered after restoration) as registration numbers are normally issued consecutively. -- Last edit: 2010-01-14 12:20:16 |

Separate bumpers match 1961 B series or 1963 C series. xxx ELL plates issued "in blocks" June 62 - July 63, so agree 1962 date more likely than 1964, making it B series. Production stopped in 64. |
