1947-54 Chevrolet Panel Truck. Looks to be a large Chevrolet 'Bowtie' emblem on the side of the van. |

Yes. Link to "forum.imcdb.org" Although I doubt that paint job on the side is supposed to be a bowtie. There's also some paint on and around the door. -- Last edit: 2010-01-08 03:51:11 |

Notice slanted edges on far left and right, it's a Bowtie. |

I also noticed that widened section below what would be the bowtie, and more paint around the doors. It's certainly a 1948-53 Chevrolet 3105 Panel Truck, but I think the owner simply wanted to paint over the logo and lettering of the previous owner. Then again, maybe the guy did try to paint a bowtie over the previous inscription, but messed it up. -- Last edit: 2010-01-08 19:24:21 |

Panel from the 1947-55 Chevrolet Advance-design trucks line, but with a 1947-53 only front end. It seems to be the shortest model (196.625"/4.99 m long, to be compared to the only other available panel, the 227.625"/5.78 m 1-ton 3800 one). So, as small 3100 panel, it has indeed the 3105 Chevrolet internal code. The hood side emblem sounds to me like the one of a 1947-49 Thriftmaster (i.e generic name of the 3100 to 3800 trucks from 1947 to 1949). Anyway, there is apparently no clue to say more than a 1947+ model year. ⇒ 1947 Chevrolet Advance-Design Panel [3105] -- Last edit: 2015-01-21 03:19:11 |
