Since what year the Lada Niva was named Chevrolet Niva on the Russian market? |

Since 2002 but Chevrolet Niva is a totally different model. These old looking models (VAZ 2121/VAZ-21213/VAZ-21214) were never badged as Chevrolet. |

The Chevrolet Niva is a different model produced by the GM-AvtoVAZ joint venture. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lada_Niva#Chevrolet_Niva The original Niva (2121) is now badged as the Lada 4X4 in Russia. http://www.lada.ru/cgi-bin/models.pl?model_id=5086&branch=tth |

Hmmm, I think, that I've seen some old-style Niva's, badged as Chevrolet, when I've been in Moscow and St.Petersburg in early 2003. Yes, there were some, because I remember, that I was quite irritated, when I saw the Chevrolet-badge on them... |

They were probably just pimped by their owners. |

Chevrolet Niva was to change the Niva-2121 and called the Lada Niva, but GM spoiled everything. |
