The Morgan indicates that although the film was produced by Belarusfilm, it was probably filmed somewhere in the Baltics, typical for Soviet productions. Oldest car in Lithuania was an 1896 Panhard-Levassor. However, that car has not survived, and the oldest car is now a 1922 Dodge. Oldest car in Latvia is a ca. 1902 Krastin from the United States, built by August Krastin (a Latvian-American) Oldest car in Estonia is a ca. 1898 Clement-Panhard, of which today only the front axle, frame and engine construction have survived. These parts were discovered in 1977. |

There apparently was a Lion-Peugeot in the USSR, but that doesn't appear to be it either: https://pastvu.com/p/570525 It is in any case not the Dux K24 that has been seen in several other Soviet productions. |

If it's of any help, the building in the background is a Rundāle Palace in Latvia. Although the monument on which the people are standing no longer exists: Link to "previews.123rf.com" |

Okay, it looks a little different now, but what about this custom made Mercedes from Latvia? https://farm1.staticflickr.com/361/31457186924_cd8c7c627d_b.jpg Pretty close, and a lot can happen in 35 years. |
