This rear was used during 1947-1949. I'm not sure it will be possible to distinguish between these years, nor between the 6-cylinder Champion and the V-8 Commander, though Champions were much, much more common. |

Appears to be '47 Champion. Commanders had an overlay of 3 vertical chrome pieces on the taillamp lenses. Car has '47 style bumper guards. Therefore caption ID is correct. |

Correct, a 1947 Champion it is. It has a two-tone paintjob which was not available. But since this movie was shot in 1955 this car was pretty old. |
