Ep.5.09 "The Correct Way To Kill" |

To me it looks like the grille and badge on the bonnet are Morris Mini Minor. The only thing suggesting a Cooper is the bonnet mounted "stuck-on" number-plate a common boy-racer addition following its use on the E-type Jaguars. 1962 Morris Mini Minor Deluxe, by the over-rider extensions. |

Actually a 1966 (D reg.) Morris Mini Minor Super de Luxe (I had a 1963 one). The pre-'63 de Luxe models had over-riders without 'lifting handles' (I had a 1962 Austin before the Mini Minor). |

I had a 1965 Austin Mini. Super Deluxe I think but not certain (bumper extensions and hinged rear glasses). It had 'hydrolastic' suspension.. squeaked badly in the warm weather but OK in the winter. |

Yes, it would have been a Mini Super de Luxe; mine had hinged rear glasses too. 'Hydrolastic' was introduced in 1964, but dropped in 1971. I drove a couple of Setúbal-built Morris Mini Minor hire cars in Portugal in 1969/70, and wasn’t very impressed with the ‘hydrolastic’; the handling didn’t seem as crisp as with the rubber suspension. Apparently some others agreed with me. |
