I was hanging on a rope before (see the a-pillar) and the bended edges have rust, so the crash was a few days or weeks before. @DynaMike: yes, it's a Sedan. Due the rounded bumpers it's the first modelyear 1974. The big back hood was available after summer 1974. So all 1974-Passat's are Sedans (except the Variant, sure).
