Good find - excellent, I agree that its an Alvis Tourer but I think it is more likely to be a 1936 Speed Twenty similar to this one Link to "www.vieux-volants.com" I have several of these movies made 1937 to 1939 and it appears that the same (or very similar) car was used in all of them so 1938 may be a year or so too young. -- Last edit: 2006-03-16 17:16:30 |

Having compared some photos in a reference book (Classic And Sportscar A-Z of Cars of the 1930s) I say it's a Speed Twenty too. |

This is an Alvis SA Speed Twenty of 1932. GX3458 is chassis 9810 with a Vanden Plas 4 seater sports body. The car still exists in Australia.I t was a veteran of several movies and appears in Werewolf of London, A Chump at Oxford and several others where it had been repainted white. |
