Ep.4.12 "Two's A Crowd"

Reminds a Peugeot 403, but in England?

I think it is... And by the high roof probably a Break (or were they called Estate in GB ???).

Agreed with Familiale too... Estate in GB I guess, and with specific hubcaps looking like those used on 1st 404 Super Luxe in France.

I found these 403 estates in a 1962 UK booklet described as 'family limousine', 'estate car' and 'utility'. But in the same text the Familiale is called 'Grand Luxe limousine', though... Importers of Peugeot in GB were Peugeot Ltd., High Street, Croydon, Surrey.

Peugeot 403 Saloon & Station Wagon Advertisements placed by Peugeot UK, Croydon.

Source: The 1960 'Autocar' and 'Motor' magazine advertisements for the Earls Court motor show so 1961 model year.

Names in both adverts: 'Peugeot 403 Station Wagon' also available as 'Peugeot 403 Family Saloon'.

Could Station Wagon correspond rather to the Commerciale and the Family Saloon to the Familiale as this one with chromed stripes on the sides and "super-luxe" hub-caps (from 404)?

Without knowing the Peugeot range from the 1960s but reading the adverts again you are probably correct, sixcyl.

The 'Autocar' magazine advertisements reads...

"The 403 Saloon."
[picture of saloon]
"The 403 Station Wagon. Also available in Family Saloon form."
[picture of estate car/wagon]

The 'Motor' advert in describing the models.

"... the Peugeot Saloon is definitely for the driver... Also available in Station Wagon and Family Saloon form."

So yes Family Saloon = Familiale
