SC is the trim level |

On Honda's website, I seem to recall that the SC was listed separately from the normal Element. |

It is still a trim level though. Chevrolet Listed the Z28 separately from the Camaro, as well as Pontiac listing Trans Am different from the Firebird but they are still trim levels. |

Honda's website doesn't list them separatly http://automobiles.honda.com/tools/build-price/models.aspx Element models: Link to "automobiles.honda.com" -- Last edit: 2009-09-23 13:27:58 |

That's why I used the past tense. Before the redesigned '09 model came out, I'm pretty sure the SC was listed separately. Courtesy of the Internat Archive Wayback Machine, I give you Honda's model lineup as it appeared on September 24, 2007: Link to "web.archive.org" (give it some time; it takes a while to upload on my connection) I also support listing the Element SC separately since it is a visually distinct model with unique colors and its own front clip. -- Last edit: 2009-09-23 19:56:35 |

But couldn't you also say that about many of the trims on other vehicles? Some of the ones that come to mind immediately for me are the Eddie Bauer and Limited trims used by Ford. They have distinct colors and other "goodies" too. -- Last edit: 2009-09-23 20:17:00 |

But in the link provided from the internet archive they list the Civic Si separately from the Civic, Si is however a trim level of the Civic. I understand what you are saying, but a lot of vehicles have different colors and front clips on different trim levels. Here are a few of examples right off of the top of my head: Pontiac Sunfire GTs have different engines, Front and rear bumpers and sideskirts than the Sunfire SE. But they are still both trim levels of the Sunfire. the 1999 Honda Civic Si had different bumpers than other Civics and the color "Electron Blue" was only available on the Si (until it became on optional color of the CR-V a few years later) The Lumina Z34 (and all the Z-codes for that matter Z24, Z26, Z28, Z34, etc.)had a different grille, front and rear bumper, taillights, seats, and exhaust than other Luminas. The Ford Thunderbird SC also had different bumpers, and sideskirts than other Thunderbirds. I understand that the SC is the top-of-the-line Element, but it is after-all an Element Just like a Z24 is a Cavalier, a Super Coupe is a Thunderbird and an Si is a Civic. |

Exactly. And sometimes people bring up the issue of performance, which is why some of the Dodge "R/T" cars are listed separately. I honestly don't see the point as in the end, it is still the same basic car with some upgrades, whether on the outside or the inside. |

^ Yeah I noticed that about the Taurus SHO. While I love SHOs and have owned three of them. They are still Tauruses. The SHO may have a different engine, brakes, interior, bumpers, and colors but it is still a Taurus, It was sold alongside Ls and GLs etc. and is listed in the same brochure as the other Tauruses (except the 55a which has its own brochure. |
