@rljuna2: two weeks ago, on the ferry from Britain to Holland I've seen something, which made me think "Hey, something for rljuna2!" It was a Vauxhall Zafira (the newest model), which had an unique way to put off the asymmetry from the RHD-lights for the continental traffic. No black stickers, as usual - it was a plastic lense, which sits a few centimeters over the front lamp, fitted with rubber-holders beween hood an fender. It was an official Vauxhall-part, I've seen the brand-logo on them. I never seen this patent before. -- Last edit: 2010-05-08 23:15:48 |

@rljuna2: Bought yesterday on the classic car show http://www.ic-tm.nl/english/Pages/default.aspx : But admittedly for the other side (a page, torn out of a British "Autocar"-magazine), because there's a Wartburg Knight-advertise on I've picked up a few British, Dutch an Belgian magazines and articles, containing DDR-made cars, for a fellow, who is a specialist for that. In the DDR and the other COMECON-countries it was not easy to get stuff about the Western export-versions of their vehicles, so it's a rarity for them even nowadays. @Andre Malraux: there was several Scaldia-stuff to find, too. @130rapid: and more Skoda-stuff. But you had switched off your mobile phone, so I couldn't ask you, if it's something special @dsl: right at the first dealer's stand I thought "Woah, what a marvellous feature for dsl!": an original undamaged 1960ies key-holder with the logo and inscription "HILLMAN MINX" But the seller denied to lower his price of 15 € This was too much, I think. For less than 5 € I would have bought it. |

I've been identifying the yellow headlamp covers as Halfords for a few of our entries with Brits abroad - /yourcomments.php?search=halford&id=dsl - but Lucas is just as appropriate. As for the Minx key-fob, nice thought - I still have one of my dad's old keyrings for a Minx somewhere - very scruffy from several years use. |
