I can recall when these cars were new and noted when the '78's came out that there was finally some detail change after 3 straight identical model years, '75 to '77.
(I always liked seeing some difference each year and was always disappointed when there was no change.)

Appears you are right if you are referring to the LTD Landaus or Country Squires.
The Custom 500, LTD and LTD Broughams in 1975 appear to not have the body-colored separators - they were chrome like the '76's.
The above is based on admittedly somewhat sketchy info in Burness' auto ID books. What source is your info based on?
