1986+ Note the intercooler badge, pre 86's were not intercooled, and they didnt say Regal on them anywhere, I know I sold em brand new and had 2 for demonstrators, VERY fast.

It's a 1987 Grand National. The fender vents were added on this one, it's not a GNX...

Im curious, Ive NEVER doubted your identifications philr, but what makes you think the vents were added after production? I sold Grand Nationals and GNX's new in 1987. Please educate me.

I agree with philr because the grille seems to say "Buick" versus "GNX". Also the GNX, I believe had black wire wheels and was devoid of any Grand National badges.

Ok, Im amazed what I can forget in 22 years, I agree with the lace design wheels and the badging, thanks for pointing out my diminishing capacities. ;) The dealership I worked at only got 3 GNX's, If anyone is interested, I know where you can buy a 1987 GNX with 431 original miles, I think he wants about 90k for it.

Sure... I just gotta get my checkbook lol. Actually that is my all-time favorite car but I'd even "settle" for a Grand National or T-Type Turbo. ;)

Apart from the GNX badging, it also lacks the GNX wheel flares and the GNX-specific wheels. So yeah, the vents have been added to this one.

The Owner of the dealership where I worked had alot of pull with Buick's racing division. We had quite a reputation for aquiring and retailing more T-Types, Grand National's and GNX's. Some area dealers couldn't, or wouldn't sell them, so we would dealer trade for them. Buick took pretty good care of our needs. It was a different business then.

Why would a dealer refuse to sell them?
