I remember reading somewhere that it's even a very, very early production car (maybe even pre-production) car given to the producers because Ford wanted to showcase it's new Mustang. It's the very first appearence of a Mustang in a movie. Ford also supplied most of the other featured cars in the movie (the Thunderbird, Ranchero, and the Lincoln that was smashed into a cube). They include having a generator charging system vs. alternator, a 170ci six (U-code), a 260 2V (F-code), or a 289 4V (D-code) low-compression, unimproved hood leading edge, large horns mounted down on the frame behind the radiator, a brake light pressure switch on the master cylinder, a center "off" heater fan switch and a generator charge light. These are all pretty much exclusive to Mustangs built between early March and July 31, 1964.

If not, we would list the 1964½ as 1964, and I can add something to add the ½ after the year in that special case But on Wikipedia they mention: Quote The Mustang debuted at the New York Worlds Fair on April 17, 1964, as a 1965 model. Since it was introduced 5 months before the normal start of the production year this first model has become widely known, incorrectly, as the 1964 1/2 model. A more accurate description is "early 1965" model, as the car underwent several significant changes at the start of the regular model year. TMSBrad ◊ 2008-08-05 22:36	The VIN on every 1964 1/2 Mustang starts with a 5, so they are all technically 1965 models. There had never been a 1/2 model year designation before. The cars were called "early 1965s" and weren't called 1964 1/2s until much later.

69Roadrunner426 ◊ 2008-12-28 08:00	This sequence was supposed to take place in Geneva, Switzerland. During this time, a European bought Mustang was badged as a Ford "T-5" because the name Mustang was already taken by a small German truck Company. Is this a T-5 or an authentic Mustang?
