Belongs to Bugsy's friend George Raft (Joe Mantegna)

As the present owner, I can confirm the year as it was a birthday present to myself, and it is as old as I am - 1948.

Unquestionably a 1946 style hood ornament.

Maybe the hood ornament isn't original.

Well I guess so if the information from Tsimsi is correct.

Well, either he is mistaken (Tsimsi) or we are, and we have the documents that WE OWN the 1946 Lincoln Continental used in "Bugsy" at is a 1946 in the movie along with the ppwk that the car won the Concours d'elegance in Pebble Beach in 1994 and that it is 96% original (that's almost unheard of) and that it was originally owned by Clark Gable. My step-father has owned the car since 2002 and we used in our wedding in September 2010. The car currently is stored near Milwaukee, WI. The pictures were taken in-and-around downtown as a part of a period 1940's theme wedding we had.

Sorry sir, but I think you were taken advantage by a less-than-scrupulous seller!

Thanks for the info :)
It is always possible that they used a second car (Tsimsi's 1948 model then?) for some shots; e.g. interiors, etc.

Oh dear, it makes you wonder which other movie car owners we have listed on this site are also jokers. Thank you for setting us straight ck-be, much appreciated ;)

I doubt it.

I didn't know what "ppwk" meant at first, then I realised - paperwork. (just so others don't get confused ;) )

Many seem serious and give much info, I do not think there are so many mistakes there.
But indeed when we just get a message "this is my car" without much more detail, it is probably not very reliable.

I think a number of them made very brief comments like "It this year, I know because this is my car" which anyone could say to be honest. But I know some of them seem pretty geniune.

I mean, you'd would what motivation people would have to claim some not-famous car in a film is theirs (apart from the fact there always seems like plenty of idiots on the internet) but ck-be said he thinks he was a "less-than-scrupulous seller", so maybe what could happen is someone is trying to sell a similar car, adds a comment here saying they own it, in the hope a buyer will contact them. I don't think it's unheard for people selling stuff (whatever it is) to claim it was once owned by so-and-so or was once used for such-and-such.
