It's funny that they would have a brand new station wagon when they only had one child and she was a year old. But they needed one for this episode, so they got one. I only remember this wagon in this episode. |

Well, maybe they were planning for the future....remember that Adam came along a few years later. Plus, you didn't need a big family to find a station wagon useful in their heyday. I think Darrin went camping some of the time, so that would have been helpful for hauling things. Considering the Stephens get a new car each year, and usually a well-decked out example, maybe we can assume (pretend?) that Darrin is an ad writer for Chevolet, or barring that, Avis or Hertz. One of the perks from the client would be getting to sample the product. Or think that the wagon could conveniently be a loaner while Sam's car (a Chevelle or Corvair that year, I don't recall?) was being serviced. |
