The cowl insignia should tell you whether or not it's a 1964 or '66. It's not between the hood and the windshield, so we can rule out 1965. However, the 1966 had the 1965 cowl insignia in the same location as the 1964, and the 1964 cowl insignia was only available for that year. Unfortunatley, this photo is kind of blurry, so we can't tell which one this is. |

It's clearly a 1966 C10 (1/2 ton) 2wd stepside short wheel base. There is no cowl insignia. The year/model emblem is located on the fender of this truck. - rectangular emblem with the bow-tie on top and the model designation below. Only 1960, '61, 62 & '65 trucks had cowl insignias. 1963, '64 & '66 emblems were on the fender just forward of the doors. -- Last edit: 2009-11-08 21:38:36 |

As said by hilandr451, a short C-10 model indeed, with a 1966 fender/cowl/cab-side/whatever-one-wants-to-call-it emblem/insignia/etc. With the Stepside bed option, this pickup has then a C1404 Chevrolet internal code. ⇒ 1966 Chevrolet C-10 Stepside [C1404] |
