This car changes to a smaller one, which goes down the steps and into the sea:- /vehicle_226643.html -- Last edit: 2009-05-05 10:56:20 |

The radiator suggests a Sunbeam from the 20s, maybe a 3-litre. |

Right make, wrong engine size ... this will probably be a 14 h.p., going by engine size and year. |

The Sixteen was introduced for 1927. It featured a 2035cc six cylinder overhead valve engine rated at 16.9hp. http://www.sunbeam.org.au/models/sixteen.htm (edit link correction). The same tourer? Possibly an error on mycarcheck??? -- Last edit: 2009-05-05 11:30:19 |

...also Sunbeam had a Sixteen 'folding head coupe' so perhaps this is it? |

The Sunbeam 16 was introduced for 1927 as a replacement for the four cylinder, 2121cc 14/40. It was a fashionable 'light six' of 67.5 x 96mm, 2035cc. This was quite short stroke by Sunbeam standards and the design rather followed that of the Talbot 14/45 that George Roesch had designed a little earlier. It could reach 4,300rpm and produced about 50bhp. A saloon would cost £650, which was not cheap- this tourer, about £600. The 16 was the least expensive and most successful Sunbeam model of the time and 1,200 were built in 1928. |
