1936 Buick - maybe Limited or Roadmaster? |

'36 Limited and Roadmasters that I've found in old ads. had spare wheel on the right side before front fender (perhaps that is only for ads., I don't know that) and doesn't the main picture. On the contrary '36 Century (series 60) and Special (series 40) didn't have that spare wheel in this side (at least in the old ads I've seen). Comments for the ID? Extra pic with more light and brightness up |

I will do some more checking on this one. I thought it looked too big to be a Century or Special. I think that even on the bigger cars, sidemounted spares were an option but were usually fitted. As far as I know the bigger series model shared the body with Cadillac. |

I agree that this one is fairly big to be a Special or a Century ( 118 inch/ 112 inch ) .In 1936 all Limiteds ( 138 inch wheelbase) and all Roadmasters ( 131 inch wheelbase) had a left fenderwell with a standard single left sidemount .Dual sidemounts were available at extra cost and were indeed popular. As a consequence , a left hand side view of this car would not help more than this right hand side view and one has to rely on the sole wheelbase.I would go for a 1936 Buick Limited 6 passenger sedan model 91 here judging from the lenght of the rear door window. |
