Standard Twelve (not 'flying' the fastback shape)

Looks well like a Fourteen.
Good to see the model liberated from the 'Flying' adjective. The Database wouldn't amend that for the 'Seven Days' Eight Tourer - which model only came close to flying at the start of banger racing in the early 60s. (I remember a little saloon in a contemporary 'This Week' edition when Construction and Use was of more import than Health and Safety).

On a world class database we need to be aware of inconsistencies. Standard cars, in particular, seem to afford plenty of scope. On the 'Flying Twelve' page alone, I see some 6 stills featuring models failing to pass Sunbar's A for Acid test - including a WWII Twelve utility in 'Il general della Rovere' (1959).

I'm no expert, I guess you mean comments by 'johnfromstaffs' and/or 'dsl'?

The 'Tilly' listing in 'Il general della Rovere' (1959) however has been updated.

I'm definitely not an expert on Standards - far too young etc - I just follow the paths revealed by digging around and hope they match up with some coherence. So I'm happy if my findings are overtaken by better knowledge, although there is the standing imcdb proviso that new info/IDs should be supported if possible by evidence (particularly if old ID has supporting evidence which needs to be overturned).
