That's spelled "Willys," not "Willis." And I'm not sure if it's a CJ-2, or a repainted MB. |

The front lamps are looking, if the were mounted in front and instead of the originals. A German and/or Austrian movie from 1956, so I say, it's a left over WW II-Jeep or one of the Allied troops. As I know, the Jeep in its civil version wasn't officially available here. |

Willys MB is correct. The smaller headlights were difficult to find in some locations and so the modification as seen here was not usual. Jeeps & jeeps were often highly modified to improvise. This vehicle has many of the characteristics of the WWII jeep: Grille, windshield, side handle, combat rims, full floater rear axle, and even the four bolts on the side under the passenger door opening for the radio box/ignition suppressor. |
