I am beginning to doubt that this is a Lancia ![]() -- Last edit: 2006-03-30 06:26:54 |

This must be post 1935, with the fender wrapping down so low. The badge looks Lancia, but the rest of the radiator is not in the traditional shield shape. This being a version of the Lancia Astura would be a safe guess. The only other candidates are a Fiat 518 or Fiat Adita, or a Simca/Fiat -- Last edit: 2007-04-08 17:12:36 |

1934 Alfa Romeo 6C 2300 Gran Turismo Berlina "Tipler, Alfa Romeo Berlinas, Veloce Publishing,pg 27" Interestingly, some Alfa Romeos of this period had the "Alfa Romeo" name in script on the radiators, such as http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/pic.php?imagenum=1&carnum=2499 but others did not, such as Link to "www.alfaromeo.gr" |

You have a picture of the car? Those that I found had different grille/bumper |

I do not have an exact picture. This car is very intriguing. At first I thought it was a Lancia or a Fiat, Then I came across pictures in two Alfa Romeo books at a book store that showed 6c 2300s that looked similar to this car. So I bought both books so that I can check out the pitures at home-the Tipler book that I quoted and a book published by Bruno Alfieri. I also checked Alfa books of the Sutton's Photographic History of Transport series, an Osprey book, and a coffee table book by David Owen. It seems that the 6C 2300s were bodied by Carrozzeria Castagna, Carrozzeria Touring, and also carried standard factory bodies. So there were many variations. What was surprising was that Alfa Romeo did not seem to have supplied standard radiator shells. I also checked two Lancia books and two Fiat books on their cars of the same period, Lancias had more standard radiator shells. Fiat became more aerodynamic after the 518/508/527 era. The only Fiats that resembles the car in the picture were the 518 Ardita with a narrower radiator and the 527, again with a narrower radiator. My only reservation is that the badge on the radiator though round, is not very clearly Alfa Romeo, and the two rectangular fog/driving lights on the bumper, which may indicate that the car has been subjected to some modification, so i thought 6c 2300 was a good choice because the shape of the rdiator shell and the bonnet extending from the radiator shell backwards, for example, this picture, http://www.autogallery.org.ru/k/a/35ar6C2300BTurismo.jpg. I wonder if any one else can shed some light on this car. |

This is a Lancia Dilambda Berlina Pininfarina 1933, NOT an Astura. |

Tappezzeria e vernice originali. Solo il motore è stato revisionato.
