The car in the main pic an the first two thumbnails is a 1973+ VW 412 Wagon, colour "marathonmetallic".

The car on the third thumbnail is a 1970+ VW 1600 Variant "longnose" (squareback in the USA). And left of it is - surely for walter ;) - a Audi 100 LS automatic [C1].

Im getting so confused with these Volkswagens :??: so they are not the same model? :??:

No, the 412 is a Typ 4, the 1600 Variant a Typ 3.

I know but in Estate versions theyre almost the same?

No. Different models, different engines, even different chassis-construction.

Im talking about the design Ingo not the engines.

Twodoor wagons with aircooled engines, made by VW - that's all. I must hardly think, which parts from the body are identical. Probably nothing. I'm even not sure about the door-handles.

Uuups, now I know: the hubcaps! The hubcaps are identical at both cars.
So at least they have as much in common as the VW K 70 with the NSU RO 80 - the hubcaps. :p

P.S. The colour of the 1600 Squareback is "kansasbeige" - VW-enthusiasts have named it "the colour, which looks like puked-up porridge". :D

Indeed Typ 3 and 4 are rather different...
e.g.

/vehicle_196648-Volkswagen-411-E-Variant-Typ-4-1972.html
(even if there are similarities, like the grille on the rear fender... or the hubcaps as Ingo said :D)

*nitpicking modus on*

@Antoine: sorry, but you caught the wrong pics. The red Variant is a pre-1970 "shortnose", which has a plenty of different parts than the 1970+ "longnose" - except the doors and the windows everything from the body. Same goes for the orange 411 Variant. A lot of difference to the 412. :D

But we appreciate your idea, which goes in the correct direction. :p
