It's not a Country Squire as it does not had the faux wood trim. It's a standard LTD wagon. |

This can also be a 76, 77 and the 78 all had the same bodies??? I dont think this is a 75....because of color -- Last edit: 2009-06-05 01:53:11 |

Just watched this movie for Halloween. The wagon is specifically a 1978 model. In one scene (not pictured) I could see the wider spoiler under the front bumper which was exclusive to the 1978 models. |

Production designer Tommy Lee Wallace told me at the Halloween convention in 2008 that this car was a rental. I imagine they could have kept a '75 model at a rental agency for three years, especially as this one is in such good condition in the film. |

It's possible a rental agency could have a 3 year old car available...but I doubt it. Most rentals are brand new to maybe a couple years old at most. If they rented the wagon from a Ford dealership then it most definitely would have been a new 1978 model. This does not look like a 75 model to me...closer to a 78. But, I'm not an expert. Michael's party wagon, baby! This car was creepy though...this strange station wagon with an official logo of some kind following these teenage girls around. Scary!! -- Last edit: 2012-10-31 02:39:00 |

Thumbnails number 1 and 3 both show the unique-to-1978 bumper spoiler. |

Yeah...I agree. By the way--a few weeks ago I added some new info to the "Psycho" cars we were talking about last summer--specifically the old 1928 Model A. Just thought you might want to check it out. ![]() |
