I personally know the Grey and the B & W 1954 Ford Customlines, used in the Dragnet series, very well. In 1957, +-, they were both sold to Marshall Martin, a Terminal Island Ford employee, who was "Head of Security" AND the winner, of the 1949 (Lincoln) and 1957 "6"(Ford Fairlane 500) Mobil Gas "Economy Run"s (of which I have his picture in front of the '57 Ford, with his trophy). He purchased both cars (though his wife, Margret, almost got a 'ticket'[got a 'warning instead] in the B & W [before Marshall painted the doors 'black'], when she drove, their son, Ronnie and I [at the time, my best friend], to see Walt Disney's "Littlest Outlaw", at the Fine Arts Theater in Hollywood). They drove them for about 3 years, until he bought and restored a 1949 Ford Anglia and restored a 1955 Thunderbird (only to have it nearly destroyed in the "Baldwin Hills Dam Disaster", while parked at Fedco). He bought it back from the insurance company and restored the "Bird" again and gave it to his son , Ronnie. Slayman

I had my hands on this very car. Ronnie sold the car to his cousin Loren Peer. I helped my friend rebuild the 239 cu.in. engine. He changed the color to a off white with black tuck and roll. He had it for several years and sold it. We had lots of fun in it, Loren drove it on to beach north of Port Hueneme when we were camping at Leo Carrillo State Park.
