Agreed...a lot of cars around that time were too bulky for my taste, but I always liked Biff's car.

I have an old newspaper from 1955, and it's got some defunct car dealer selling used cars. One was a '46 Ford convertible like Biffs here, and guess how much it was for sale for. $48!! I wanna borrow Doc's time machine (after I make a quick stop at my bank), so I can go back to a time where ya could buy a car for less then 50 bucks.

so if one sold for $48 and biff caused $300 in damages to his by crashing into a manure truck, his should have been totalled, lol.

Little known fact this car was a hard top cut up to make it look like a convertible for the movie. It was available for sale at the volo museum for a while.

I OWN THIS CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As noted above, it was for sale at the Volo Auto Museum and I got it in August of 2009. It drives and looks great. People love the car before they know what it is! once they do, they are totally shocked! I was at a Car Show in September and everyone was impressed with a piece of movie history. BTTF fans were soooooo happy, I think I made their year!! Some upgrades were added prior to my acquiring the car, such as Mirrors, new paint, and redone interior.
I love this car and am happy to be a steward of its continued preservation for the Future! ;)

There were AT LEAST two different cars used as Biff Convertible in BTTF and BTTF II. There were all Ford Super De Lux's 1946-1948. I have a photo being uploaded of the 1948 used in the movie. As soon as the Admin approves the picture, I'll supply a list of differences.

I'm actually very surprised that nobody else here caught that. Biffs convertible is like the General Lee from the "Dukes of Hazzard", there wasn't just one car. :)

What do you mean by "a photo being uploaded"? If it is on the page /upload.php once the pic is sent you have to copy the given code and paste it in your message to make the picture appear ;)

It has been a little frustrating, these first few posts. Especially when things disappear with no explanation. I just wanted to point out the two (or more) cars that represent Biff's car. I've worked on IMDB.COM for years and have hundreds of items added to their site, as well as two movies I've been in listed with them and a third one in the works. IF it will not be deleted again, I will be glad up upload the photo of the 1948 Ford Super De Lux.

I believe I can help a bit with this one. I am actually "CarManDan" from above who owns the car, I just couldn't remember my password.

There were actually 3 different Fords used for the movie, a 46, a 47, and a 48. The 46 was the one that was used the most, and got the manure dumped on it (the one I own) the other two were used for a variety of other distance shots, or super close shots. A few eagle-eyed fans have spotted these small discrepancies, and more power to them! I have a documentation of title history showing universal owning the car, and a several page history of the car from the owner who bought it from universal. It has had some work done since (interior work mostly) but still looks mostly the same. A friend of mine from L.A. came to do a video of it, and the link is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9EZWiwSzMMY&feature=youtu.be&a
Take a watch and be sure to share!

Thanks! Any questions let me know!

Biff says the damage cost him 300 dollars. However, his car appears to have just lightly bumped into the manure truck.

yeah but bump runs nearly across half of the car's lenght.. plus cleaning all the manure.
damage costs grow up rapidly, i got involved in a small incident with my Protegé in 2010 ( a guy wanted to be a show off while reversing and forgot to look where his car front was going ) , got broken tail lights , need some paint on the bumper and the evaluation was over 900 $

/upload.php copy & paste the thumbnail code in comments, it doesn't have to be approved by admins.
Unless you used "add a vehicle" on the movie page, then it probably was deleted.

and paying the manure itself :D (he mentions it somewhere in the dialogue)
300$ in 1955 is way more than even 900$ nowadays
