I cant see the 'cutouts' for the squere headlamps. So it would be a Ford Capri III (II from 1978 omward) -- Sofar people cal it, the Capri III never existed by Ford. Ford called it the Capri II '76 and the Capri II '78. Because Ford used that weird way of numbering theire cars. People made theire own 'namecalling'. -- |

It started as a little berry and although a bird kept pecking at it, it grew and grew until one day ..... Agree it's a 1978+ Capri III due to rear spoiler and wiper. Probably an S version - RHD wipers and a UK film mean a 3000 S - rather than Ghia or later 2.8. |

[ Yeh, it started as a berry, but it wasn't ...] It is one of the later models. Mirror (could't see two) and headlight covering are in the color of the car. It has the later door lock (not in the handle anymore but under it), so must be '84 on-worth. I had a 1983 GT4 that did had the older lock. It isn't a Ghia, because they have rear windows that can open, this one hasn't got the nob on the rear window. Also Ghia's haven't got the later door-lock. It'isnt a 2.8, that would have two door mirrors and a rubber 'striping' along the side of the car. The car in the movie has the RS 4 spoke aloy wheels I could see a small black and white striping (to small for the 'S' version). Could see some writing on the wing. So I'm almost sure it's a Ford Capri Laser, because it has it's striping (but that could be mounted later), so not a 100%. But it is one of the last 4 cilinder models, Ford spiked up with some extra's and sold only in the UK. Ford only produced at that time (1984 >) the 2,8V6 and 1,6 and 2,0 4 cilinders. So, almost 10 years later then thought ... ;-) PS: I watched the movie to be more sure! -- Last edit: 2010-08-25 18:34:11 |
