portacker ◊ 2012-07-07 02:29	Windshield wipers at the bottom of windshield, so no fold down glass, makes this most likely an 800 series 1 scout, or maybe an 800A. Sidemarkers are big enough for a 800A, built from middle 1970 on.

Apparently this Scout sat at the county airport until only a few years ago when someone in the area towed it off. Its current whereabouts are unknown, but I sure wish I could have gotten my hands on it. I learn all of this from a very friendly old man at my local tax office when I was registering my '76 Scout II, so hopefully the Scout information is credible." movealongs ◊ 2013-05-24 22:45	The internet claims the Scout is a 1970 however the lack of paint on the headlight bezels actually make it a 1971 according to Link to "www.ihpartsamerica.com" One way to tell that this Scout is a 800B is the lack of black paint around the headlight bezels. It's one of the few changes that IH made between a 1970 and a 1971. I happen to own a 1971 that is a fun truck. bluemoon62 ◊ 2018-01-11 18:04	Hey guys, confirming chicomarx' story above and adding a little more to the tale, an ad in the Atlanta craigslist (specifically in Lake Lanier) just popped up with this vehicle! It's not in the worst condition, and along with a little mechanical history, the seller has contact info listed. Link to "atlanta.craigslist.org" Someone save it because I can't!
