I don't believe the LDs were actually badged as BMC until the final year of production in 1968 this is more likely badged as either Morris or Austin from 1955.

Hi
I don't know how to direct you to the information about these particular ambulances, may be an administrater can link them!!!!
The ambulance is a 'wandsworth' not a wadhams as some suggest.
The design is particular to London circa 1956/7 onwards. The majority were all Austins (ld) especially the earlier versions. I know of a Morris badged wandsworth, but cannot recall if it is running a morris engine.
Badges were more likely to be recognition and homage. BMC would only have been put onto a vehicle by a fabricator at the 'wandsworth' works department.
The London Ambulance service did use wadhams and the pig snout was easily fabricated to fit these as well.
Visit 'Austin memories' website, I recently contributed to a webpage under LDs
