The Lada Niva started production in 1977, which means that it isn't impossible that this car could exist in the time frame that the film takes place in. However, the United States never got these cars at all, only Canada, and even then only starting in the 80's. So it's a bit of an anachronism. The film was shot in Ontario which explains why this car made it's way in the film, I guess they didn't think anyone would notice. Anyway, this is probably a 1990's Niva since they tended not to last too long and this one seems to be running under it's own power, which most Niva's I've seen have trouble doing after 3 or 4 years. |

Then this should be made for Canada? Did Soviet Union has side marker on the fenders?  |

The side markers were specially made for Canada, but you could also see some models in the USSR with them. Apparently, the export models to Canada seemed to be much worse than the ones sold in Europe, from what I read. We had excellent car dealer services, especially in France, Belgium and the UK, who prepared the cars for the Western customers. The Belgian and Dutch were even guaranteed 6 years against rust. The Lada (sedan) were Fiat models from the 1960s, (yet not very reliable), and still in production today 40 years later! I had one who was 30 years old, and looking damn good! |

Чурки вы нерусские. Габаритики спереди, это нечто иное как боковой повторитель указателя поворота, попросту бородавка. Габаритики на задних крыльях, просто катафоты. В 93-94 году, с появлением обновленной 21213 этот катафот был заменен на заглушку с надписью 4х4 Учите матчать! Привет от ниваводов из Томска! |

After 91 "collapse" many "new" cars in Russia started make worst than old. It is not late 90's Niva. In 1993 (as Lenz sais) rearlights change shape. And there is no special markers in Russia the same. But its surely export version, which is better. |
