I'll confess I know nothing about classic American sports cars. I only listed this as a Corvette because TV Tropes said it was (it's an "improbably cool car" according to them). But I'm somewhat skeptical.

It is a Corvette. I'm not 100% sure of the year though, but it could be anywhere betweem 1958 and 1962(although I'd shave '62 off of that range).

1958 model Ddey65, if that's what you're asking. :)

It has a rounded tail, which automatically rules out '61 and '62. Also, searches online have revealed numerous other angles of the car, which lacks the "washboard hood" or chrome trunk strips unique to the '58.

Therefore, it's either a '59 or '60. I'm not sure if there is any way to tell those two years apart.

I was going by the grille(which I couldn't see), and the chrome behind the side scoops.

I know of no exterior difference between '59 and '60 Corvettes.

This, kids, is a very poor example of rotoscoping, and a good example of how the movie was made by different studios.

Watching the scene on YouTube, it can be seen that the car has the 1960 vertical seat pleats, which pretty much narrows it down to an exact year: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_KXgFpguE0

This car looks so realistic, that it hardly looks like it's animated.

Mystery solved: It's actually a 1958 model. Yes, '58s have the 2 chrome trunk bands. But if you pause and look closely, you'll clearly see both of the missing band's screw hole connectors running up the trunk, exactly where they should be. Many '58 owners removed the band's because they were considered ugly. The animators used a real '58 Vette with effects to create the illusion of animation. Pretty cool.
