Best pic I could get of the thing. Model origin is assumed.

yep, made for movie...i have seen behind the scenes pictures of the "jungle chase"...and can confirm the jungle cutter did not exist as a fullsize real vehicle..it only existed as a model and blue screen combination prop.

update, some publications show artwork using a back to front ww2 Russian T34 tank chassis as base vehicle.

Guys. Being a bit of an armored vehicle afficianado I noticed the odd track & roadwheel layout - I'd bet a sizable amount that is a M551 Sheridan chassis. The stamped-steel un-perforated disk roadwheels, like the M113 wears, are part of the give-zaway, but the small front and rear drive & idlers are the kickers.

I can follow the thought that its a Russian chassis, as it was similarly styled to the PT76 that came out about the same time, and after its poor performance in 'Nam, it became the usual chassis for the 'vismod' conversions to Russian vehicles for OpFor units.

Go have a look - and its definitely NOT a T34 chassis - they NEVER had roadwheels anything like the ones this baby wears.
