Did y'all know that in this movie 3 different Dodge Chargers were used? You can tell in the DVD that one of the 69 Chargers is an R/T model, and the other is just a base model Charger (no R/T emblems), and one of the cars is quite obviously a 1968 Charger R/T (no split grille). |

How fast can this car go? |

The Hemi and the 440 are separate engines (the Hemi was 426 cubic inches). |

That'd be cool to know. Do Chargers top 120MPH? The 58' Fury did, in fact (information from Allpar.com) it is recorded it topped the Ford Thunderbird and Chevrolet Corvette's top speeds. I know the 58' Sport Fury went up to a whopping 120MPH, faster then my Tempo, my Dad's 98' F-150, my Grand Dad's 02' Silverado, my cousin's 89' Caprice, my uncle's 88' LTD and our 04' Venture. |

Explorer4x4, yes, a properly equipped Dodge charger can easily exceed 120. It kinda depends on the motor, trans and rear-end gearing. |

i think it could pass 120 if it was given a good overdrive, seems like the RPMs could redline in top gear on a car like this and there'd be no more gears to go |

yeah, its a shame i wish people knew more about this charger than the general lee life would be better seeing 3 sublime green chargers with black stipes and fenton gyros on them instead of 3 orange chargers with vectors and that flag on the roof |

i think it would be funny to see a blue 69 with the american flag on top and called the general grant!!!!!! |

i love this movie, as a child i remember my dad driving and i asked him if that thing was going to break, that thing was the speedometer, it was past the numbers they stop at 150 mph. i also remeber being stuck to the back seat and not being able to move at all when he peeled tires, thanks for the pictures of the 68 i did not know that. http://greencharger68.tripod.com/ |

Ive had my 69 440 over 140mph. Most of the time you run out of road before you run out of top end. |

Of course a lot of people also swear this car is Citron yellow, in the script it refers to the colour as both yellow or green. |

Sometimes you just gotta take it to the max... The clown was faster than Franklin and the cops... gets taken out by 10mph train. Was I the only person who lol on the first viewing? |

I wonder how much of his own driving Peter Fonda did in this film? As everyone knows, he mostly did his own stunts when he was on two wheels. |
